Monday Morning Java

Yesterday, I was talking with one of my gals about being obedient spiritually. She was having an emotional struggle between her and the gentlemen friend that she is dating. The struggle was about sustaining her abstinence. Now within the conversation I had to understand her point of view as well as trying to understand his and considering the longest I have went without sex was only a month or two I knew I had my hands full. After hearing all of the information, I knew I had to open my mind so I could give her the best advice so she could make the best decision pertaining to her situation.  Because the old me would have wanted her to convince her that having sex outside of marriage is no big deal but the new me, the spiritual me wants her to stay celibate. So, we talked about the information her gentlemen friend offered her but wanting to stay celibate for his blessings and since both of them were on sustaining her abstinence and being blessed for living within GOD’s word he wanted to slow down so he can stay on the same path. I had to get her to understand his point of view and letting her know that if he spoke to you from his spirit and he wanted to continue on getting his blessings by staying within the word of GOD she had to respect it. Considering if she saw any chance of being with this man or marring him she would have to follow his lead and respect him as the head.

  According to Ephesians 5:26-30

 He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and blameless. 28 So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; 29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, 30 because we are members of His body.  

I shared this information to inform our ladies that spiritually we are help mates and when starting out any relationship we want to make sure that we stay as close as possible to GOD’s words so we can receive our blessings. Remember once you start a relationship wrong you will have to work way too hard to get it back on track.  So, husbands take care of your wives like GOD took care of the church and ladies be that help mate that GOD expects you to be when supporting your husbands.
